TeamW was originally founded by Trish & Rudi Widdershoven in 1989 and after recently retiring the tradition of exceptional personal service continues with Susie Mattner & Karen Hayess.
Born and raised in Vancouver's Lower, Susie has been enjoying the Island since 1981, visiting family. In 2015 she made the big move and now calls OceanSide her "forever home".
Susie's background is in sales and marketing for over 20 years , with most her most recent as an award-winning sales representative with the Proctor and Gamble Group.
Susie has also had much personal success through buying, renovating and selling property over the years, including a joint venture in a commercial building in New Westminster with her brother Klaus who has been a local German car mechanic in Qualicum Beach for many years
Between her extensive work experience in building long-term trusted client relationships, and her truly being a "people person" along with a keen eye for real estate, it was all too obvious that becoming a Realtor was a perfect match for her skills and interests.
Susie is truly enjoying Island life on her acreage in Qualicum Beach where she likes to discover new trails and hikes with her West Highland White Terrier Charlie. Susie has her Mom living with her, whom she helps to care for. Getting in Yogi time is important, and of course, spending quality time with her family and friends is a top priority.
"Living the Island dream" has always been her mantra and putting an address to her client's dream is her forever mission and long-term goal. Its all about helping others get their dream home whatever that may be.
After an extensive career in banking and sales, I found my true calling in real estate. My favourite part of my work has always been the planning process with my clients, and now my real estate clients can take advantage of my knowledge and experience as we plan to buy or sell their home.
Born and raised in Liverpool, England, I have called Qualicum Beach my home with my family for 25 years. Accordingly, I have extensive knowledge of the local area and real estate market, as well as the many amenities Vancouver Island has to offer.
From home staging to home improvement, I take a hands-on approach to my role and I am always happy to share my experience to help you find your dream home or to prepare your property for viewing and sale. I also have personal experience buying and selling homes as well as managing a rental property, and can help guide you through doing the same. I am committed to supporting you before, during, and after a home purchase or sale – let me help you make this experience as stress-free as possible!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and walking my dog through Vancouver Island’s great outdoors. I am committed to volunteering and supporting my community and am proud to be a member of the Qualicum Bay Lions.
